The Wedding of Lauren & Nikki: Same Day Edit
2 Days ago we were filming a wedding in Barnsley, just up the road from us really. This was Lauren and Nikki’s wedding. Now Lauren was a very excited bride, she’s been planning for ages and the video was one of the most important parts of the wedding for her (and her mum). The day started off at her parent’s house, it was a pretty emotional morning with tears from nearly everybody. Lauren’s wedding dress was a closely guarded secret, not even the bridesmaids were allowed to see it before she had it on. I, on the other hand, had an all access pass and my first reaction to seeing that dress was “WOW”. It was a proper fairytale princess dress by Dizzie Lizzie and it suited Lauren perfectly!
Then it was off to the church at Silkstone for the ceremony where Nikki was eagerly awaiting his bride. After the ceremony, Lauren and Nikki went off for a short photo shoot at a nearby lake. Future Earth Photography headed by David Muffit was in charge of the wedding photography, it was a pleasure to work alongside them. After the shoot, we headed back to the parent’s house for the drinks reception in their gorgeous garden. They had a beautiful marquee at the back of the garden for the wedding breakfast (well, technically, that was the bride’s grandma’s garden). Then in the evening, it was off to the nearby Blue Bell Inn for the evening party and this is where we showed their Same Day Edit. And now, you can see it too (or again)!
Hannah & David, a Same Day Edit at St Audries Park, Somerset
This past Saturday we were in Somerset at St Audries Park filming the wedding of Hannah and David. It turned out to be one very gorgeous day, stunning venue, beautiful bride, handsome groom, great weather, … everything just seemed to turn out perfectly.
We also made a Same Day Edit that day which we projected in the evening just before first dance and the fireworks.
But the celebrations didn’t end there. Yesterday, they had a second day of festivities in York with all kinds of Chinese wedding traditions, from firecrackers and dancing dragons to a tea ceremony and a fantastic traditional Chinese wedding banquet (with some very interesting items on the menu, I had never eaten jellyfish or abalone before!).
All in all, a few jam-packed but fun filled days.
I hope you enjoy their Same Day Edit, please do feel free to leave us a comment.
And stay tuned, because later this week we’ll be announcing some marvellous news about a recent trip to the WEVA Convention in Orlando. Also, this weekend we’ll be off to continental Europe to cover a wedding back in Belgium.
Jodie and Ben’s Same Day Edit at Hazlewood Castle, North Yorkshire
Yesterday we were at Hazlewood Castle up in North Yorkshire to film the wedding of Jodie and Ben. Beautiful venue, gorgeous bride, handsome groom, very friendly vicar, fantastic fireworks, plenty of fun working together with Dave from 1Click Photography and pretty much perfect weather. What more can we ask for? In the evening, just before the Jodie and Ben’s first dance as husband and wife, we screened their Same Day Edit, as ever, it was a big hit. As promised, it’s online the next day!
Catherine and Chris’ Same Day Edit at Crathorne Hall
Friday, 20 March 2009, can only be described as one gloriously beautiful spring day (although technically it wasn’t spring yet!). We travelled up to North Yorkshire, to Crathorne, pretty much right on the border with Durham County. It was the perfect day for Catherine and Chris to tie the knot, they couldn’t have wished for a more wonderful day. We arrived at the stunning Crathorne Hall Hotel a few hours before the wedding. We were doing a Same Day Edit, so we needed plenty of time to set up the edit suite and film the bride getting ready. Catherine was quite a nervous bride, but luckily at the same time, she was very excited and cheerful.
The ceremony took place at All Saints Church, just around the corner from the hall, with music provided by a string quartet and a lovely reading by the groom’s sister. After the ceremony, it was back to the Hall where the couple and their guests had exclusive of the hotel. The weather was so good that they even managed to have an outdoor reception (I think that’s a first for us for a March wedding). Throughout the day, we had loads of fun working together with Dirk Van Der Werff, a photographer from Hartlepool, with Dutch family roots, although he is through and through English.
In the evening, just before the first dance, we screened the Same Day Edit, this time on a big television in the bar area. As ever with Same Day Edits, it went down a storm, Catherine watched it 3 times in a row and as usual, plenty of the guests were in tears.
Caroline and Mike at Adlington Hall
Quickly sharing another highlights video clip before we our trip to the IOV convention. This is one from a while back now and we’ve already shown the Wedding Day Edit for this wedding, but I still wanted to show their highlights too.
So here we have it, the highlights of Caroline and Mike’s wedding day. This was without doubt a wedding with a bit of a difference. Caroline had designed and made just about everything for their wedding. The bride’s bouquet is crafted out of literally millions of tiny beads, which took her months to make and weighs a ton. She also made bridesmaids’ bouquets, buttonholes and venue decorations with the same amount of dedication, patience and number of beads! She also designed her own dress and expertly decorated her wedding shoes to match. Although she didn’t bake the wedding cake, she did design it. I believe that by now you will take it for granted that she also made all the invitations, menus, orders of service, … It’s a good thing she had 18 months to prepare for this wedding!
The day itself was splendid, the weather behaved most of the time, but even if hadn’t been, the setting was just so amazing that it wouldn’t have mattered. The ceremony took place in the Great Hall at Adlington Hall in Cheshire. This is a stunning venue, steeped in history, dating back to the Doomsday Book. Their wedding breakfast was in the adjacent Hunting Lodge which had been personalised with little touches by Caroline complete with a much appreciated candy bar! We also went to Shrigley Hall Hotel for a short photo session with Rob, the most fabulous photographer known to mankind.
So now, without further ado, I present to you Caroline & Mike’s Highlights.
What a weekend!
On Friday UPS was supposed to pick up a package by 1pm. We wanted it to be picked up by then as we still needed to drive all the way from Sheffield to Hampshire for Kirsty & Gary’s wedding on Saturday, so quite a few hours driving.
UPS didn’t pick up the package until about 4pm. So now we were going to start loading the car and noticed some fluid from under the car. Considering it’s been gorgeous weather for the past few days that worried us and now it looks like there’s a radiator leak. Slight panicking followed. It’s past 5pm which meant our garage had closed and it was probably highly unlikely that any of the car rental agencies around here were still open or have a car available. If only UPS picked up our package in time, we would have been able to leave earlier which meant we would noticed the problem earlier and could have sorted things out.
After phoning around for quite some time, I found a rental place that was still open and had a car that was large enough to take all our equipment for a Wedding Day Edit. Just had to get there with a driving license and some ID. Guess what, Niels couldn’t find his license (not the first time, had a mad panic the day before we left on vacation to the US last year). So we had to do it on my license. Bearing in mind I’ve only ever driven small cars and never an automatic, I was to say the least rather nervous. Due to road works in Sheffield we had a couple of diversion to deal with but managed to arrive at the rental place at 5.58pm, they close at 6pm. Phewww! Loaded up the car and drove down to Hampshire, although I was a bit nervous the first few minutes driving that car, I soon enjoyed it!
Saturday, the morning of the wedding. We went to the venue, the Barn at Bury Court, to set up all our equipment for the Wedding Day Edit before going to the bride. Due a slight delay with getting ready, we left the bride’s home a little later than we had planned but still leaving us plenty of time to get to the ceremony. If it wasn’t for the lady in the sat-nav machine sending us on a different route leading us straight into a traffic jam! Yikes! I really thought we wouldn’t make it, but we managed to get there just a few minutes before the ceremony. Again, phewww! A few quick shots of the venue and the groom, the bride arrived and the ceremony started. I am glad to say that from then on everything was plain sailing! Stunning venue, perfect weather, happy guests, a great photographer Jonathan Day and lovely music by the Persephone Flute & Cello Duo.
In the evening, just before the first dance we showed our Wedding Day Edit, which as usual went down a storm. There were quite a few happy tears, even from the bride, which was apparently quite an unusual occurrence.
So here it is, Kirsty & Gary’s Wedding Day Edit!
You’ve seen the trailer, now you can see the highlights
Just before we left for my 30th birthday vacation, we showed you the trailer to Debbie & Matt’s wedding video. Well, I’ve finally managed to get their highlights online too. So here you have it, Debbie & Matt’s wedding, married on 24 March 2008 at Kilworth House Hotel. They had some wonderful entertainment provided by The Ratpack Boys during the wedding breakfast, and a casino and fireworks in the evening, all to fit in with their glamourous old Hollywood theme.
Caroline & Mike’s Wedding Day
Caroline and Mike celebrated their 11th anniversary of being together yesterday. To mark the occassion in style they decided to do so by getting married at Adlington Hall. We absolutely love this couple, they are so much fun and we get on with them like a house on fire.
We had a great time. On our recommendation they also booked our favourite photographer, Rob, who is a joy to work with. We also felt very privileged to have Alex Hill (from Elysium Productions in California) joining us to film with us.
All in all, pretty much a perfect day!
Happy Easter from Ever After
Niels and I would like to wish you all a very happy Easter and as we can’t share any delicious Easter eggs with you, we thought we’d share yesterday’s Wedding Day Edit with you.
Clare & Richard’s wedding was at Leigh Court near Bristol. Clare organised the whole wedding and made so many of the little details herself, from the most original invitations (I’ll have to show you a picture of those one of these days) to the favours. We all had a fabulous day.
