A Dutch bridal prep with a hint of rugby…

As promised, some more wedding video clips! This is Alexandra and David’s wedding, they got married this past summer in the beautiful Kent countryside, with the ceremony at St James’ Church in Sheldwich and the reception at the groom’s parents’ stunning farmhouse.
It’s been a while since I’ve put in a bridal prep clip, so that’s what I’ve got for you today. Bridal preps are my favourite part of the day to film, this is where all the months of planning finally come together. The anticipation and excitement, it’s just so much fun and I love being a part of it all. Alexandra had the most elegant gown, designed by Phillipa Lepley. She also had stunning vintage jewellery and an antique watch.
The other fun thing at this wedding for us was that Alexandra and her parents are Dutch, as were many of the guests. Although we do usually enjoy having our private language, it’s always pleasant to have a chance to speak your own language with new people and surprise some of the guests that you can have a conversation with them in their own language.
And if the groom, best man and some of the ushers look a bit familiar, you are probably a rugby fan. David Flatman is a professional rugby player for Bath Rugby and has also played for the England national rugby union team (and will hopefully do so again soon!). I, on the other hand, am completely clueless about sports and didn’t realise until the wedding rehearsal, the evening before the wedding, who he was! Oops…

Caroline and Mike at Adlington Hall

Quickly sharing another highlights video clip before we our trip to the IOV convention. This is one from a while back now and we’ve already shown the Wedding Day Edit for this wedding, but I still wanted to show their highlights too.

So here we have it, the highlights of Caroline and Mike’s wedding day. This was without doubt a wedding with a bit of a difference. Caroline had designed and made just about everything for their wedding. The bride’s bouquet is crafted out of literally millions of tiny beads, which took her months to make and weighs a ton. She also made bridesmaids’ bouquets, buttonholes and venue decorations with the same amount of dedication, patience and number of beads! She also designed her own dress and expertly decorated her wedding shoes to match. Although she didn’t bake the wedding cake, she did design it. I believe that by now you will take it for granted that she also made all the invitations, menus, orders of service, … It’s a good thing she had 18 months to prepare for this wedding!

The day itself was splendid, the weather behaved most of the time, but even if hadn’t been, the setting was just so amazing that it wouldn’t have mattered. The ceremony took place in the Great Hall at Adlington Hall in Cheshire. This is a stunning venue, steeped in history, dating back to the Doomsday Book. Their wedding breakfast was in the adjacent Hunting Lodge which had been personalised with little touches by Caroline complete with a much appreciated candy bar! We also went to Shrigley Hall Hotel for a short photo session with Rob, the most fabulous photographer known to mankind.

So now, without further ado, I present to you Caroline & Mike’s Highlights.

You’ve seen the trailer, now you can see the highlights

Just before we left for my 30th birthday vacation, we showed you the trailer to Debbie & Matt’s wedding video. Well, I’ve finally managed to get their highlights online too. So here you have it, Debbie & Matt’s wedding, married on 24 March 2008 at Kilworth House Hotel. They had some wonderful entertainment provided by The Ratpack Boys during the wedding breakfast, and a casino and fireworks in the evening, all to fit in with their glamourous old Hollywood theme.

Alka & Oliver

We met Alka a few years ago at one of our other weddings where she was a bridesmaid. We were thrilled that she wanted us to film her wedding too. Alka & Oliver’s wedding was back in August last year but we’ve only just had the time now to put some their video online. This was very culturally diverse wedding: part Indian, part Malasian, part Welsh, a Scottish ceilidh in the evening and the ceremony was at a Masonic Lodge.

Alka’s dress was stunning, the beading on it was incredibly detailed, unlike any dress I’ve seen before. This is why I decided to share the bride’s prep with you as it shows her dress at its best. I’ve also included the highlights just to entertain you.
